ReBootKamp (RBK) is a program for motivated students interested in careers in software engineering or computer programming . In five months, we transform ambitious amateurs to coding professionals.
We are the premier advanced immersive program that produces market-ready full-stack Software Engineers with key skill sets demanded by industry. Students train 12+ hours a day, 6 days a week, over 19 weeks in a curriculum focused on computer science fundamentals and JavaScript.
We are looking for a Career Advisor to strengthen and grow our industry leading Student Outcomes Program. TheCareer Advisor is responsible for maintaining the school's high graduate placement rate, and is constantly finding new ways to enhance the student job search and post-bootcamp professional experience.
Responsibilities: Graduate placement is the first priority
- Build relationships with potential hiring partners
- Manage partner relations and assessing partner needs
- Build and strengthen our Alumni community
- Assess job performance for 2 years post graduation
- Work closely with graduates of assigned program(s) to assist with post-graduation job search: develop leads, conduct follow-up.
- Assist in preparation of students for after graduation employment
- Conduct Exit Interviews and Needs Assessment meetings with students to assist with career advisement efforts and tracking
- Maintain regular and consistent contact with graduates. Properly documents contact for record-keeping and metrics purposes.
- Educate graduates on job search techniques, job market trends, and professional etiquette; provide guidance and assistance as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers for the purposes of externship job leads and job placement of graduates
- Consistently develop job leads that result in the placement of graduates
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, employers, graduates, alumni
- Generates reports with stats regarding the career success of our graduates
You are ready to:
- Become familiar with using our current support systems, and, over time, evolve them in ways that increase the value that we deliver to graduates and alumni.
- Evaluate, prioritize and address inbound requests related to student job searches as they arise, containing all requests within a standardized workflow.
- Proactively identify students who need additional support both prior to and after interviews, and ensure they are supported as necessary.
- Motivate, train and mentor students throughout the entirety of their job search cycle.
- Be comfortable delivering content and issue action items in lecture and Q&A formats to an audience of over sixty graduates and alumni.
- Review cover letters, resumes and other materials to provide tactical advice to drive the success of high-stakes job applications Identify and troubleshoot job seekers in need of support, and be a passionate advocate for all job seeking graduates.
The Successful Candidate
Will have experience with the development of processes and procedures in the career advising field.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, students, staff, and faculty.
- Demonstrated strong personal mastery, including ethics, interpersonal skills, and engaged in continuous learning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, adjust to changing priorities, and perform well under pressure.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, extreme attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The following qualifications are a bonus:
- Fluency in full-stack JavaScript or any other programming background.
- Past experience on the other side of the table as a technical recruiter, engineering hiring manager, executive search team member, career or other counselor.
