The International Planned Parenthood Federation/Arab World Regional Office (IPPF/AWRO) are seeking a Technical (FGM/GBV) Female Genital Mutilation/Gender-based Violence consultant which will be based in the Arab World Regional Office in Tunisia and will provide several activities that aim at supporting the ongoing FGM/GBV programs in the region. The selected consultant will ensure all activities of the FGM programs are delivered in a technically accurate and in line with the IPPF Gender Equality policy and the IPPF client-centered clinical guidelines. She/he will work in close collaboration with the AWRO Program Director and the Gender Global Lead to ensure safe delivery of clinical GBV and FGM services. She/he will be the focal point for building the capacity of Member Associates in AWRO to ensure the implementation of safe and appropriate GBV and FGM interventions. 

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities: 

·  Provide technical direction that ensures that all health interventions related to Sexual and Reproductive health, and GBV and FGM/C, are technically sound and harmonized with IPPF client-centered clinical guidelines. 

·  Identify the main risks in delivering GBV and FGM/C services in the targeted region, and develop strategies, procedures, and tools to mitigate said risks that are implemented by all consortium members. 

·  Conduct ongoing supervision of GBV and FGM/C health services to ensure they are aligned to the aims of project objectives, service delivery needs, and expected results. To that end she/he will develop and implements quality assurance strategies on a routine basis. 

·  Ensures that the project work plan for the technical area is updated and that timelines and deliverables are being met. 

·  Contribute to the production of regular project reporting per donor and project requirements. 

·  Deliver and finalize the FGM regional (TOC) Theory of Change and conduct online sessions with regional stakeholders to present. 

·  Underline adequate methodologies, strategies and consultations ToRs that will be needed to conduct the final evaluation of the FGM project in the countries from the Arab world region. 

Timeline: 

It is expected that the work will start ASAP, with tasks completed and followed by the Program Director to review results before the completion the consultancy.

Competencies: 

·  Postgraduate university degree or equivalent in public health, social science, Gender and human rights.

·  At least two years of increasingly responsible professional experience in gender, GBV, international development or social sciences.

·  Knowledge of the SRHR sector

·  Proven ability to produce demonstrable results.

·  Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. French will be an asset

·  Field/country experience is required

·  Demonstrated skills and experience in report writing.
