Crit recruits a Financial Administrator on behalf of its client, a German public institution, for the establishment of the local team for its office in Tunis. The Tunis team will work closely together with members of the team in Berlin for the implementation of a technical cooperation project in the area of public food safety.
Duties and responsibilities :
Support of the team leader and project staff in the preparation and support for the implementation of expert missions regarding all financial administrative activities:
For example:
- Organizing the procurement of services by providers in Tunisia together with the Berlin team
- Tracking and documenting project costs/expenses in Tunisia and supporting documents
- Preparing expense reports for project staff
- Creating financial and inventory reports and support the periodic financial reporting of the project
- Preparing documents for the external accounting services (e.g. related to tax matters) and financial audits
- Digital and physical archiving of project documents
- Participating in payroll processes
- Identifying financial liabilities and performing risk analysis on liquidity and cash flow
- Preparing monthly expenditure forecast
- Assuring compliance with conditions of payment of the project
- Assuring compliance with procurement conditions of the project
- Being the point of contact for service providers and contractors for all finance related issues/questions
Manage project expenses at the local level (office costs, telecom, liaison, suppliers of events or various products, etc.) and the compilation of supporting documents; direct management of a small cash provision for minor expenses (expenses, documentation, and reporting).
In close collaboration with the team leader and other backstopping members in Tunis and Europe, identification and procurement of daily needs for the Tunis office (e.g. office supplies, material for conferences and trainings, products for hospitality matters).
In coordination with the respective project staff, development, realization, and monitoring of the implementation of quality-assured project management processes with focus on financial administration.
Continuous evaluation and optimization of financial administration and general project administration processes.
Coordination with the project assistant with organizing all activities regarding event management support, office management activities and general project assistance
For example:
- Support of the process of signing and validating the timesheets of staff and experts
- Ad-hoc support for event logistics and implementation
- Run and update project databases
- Other tasks to be determined by the Team Leader and the Consortium backstopping managers.
Your profile :
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar
- More than two years of work experience in intercultural and interdisciplinary teams, proven by work references.
Language and communication skills :
- Bilingual in French and Tunisian Arabic
- Business fluent in English or German (comparable to level C1 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- Strong sense of language style and form of written documents, very good spelling.
Professional experience :
- Excellent understanding of contractual, planning, implementation, reporting and administrative requirements.
- Professional experience in financial project coordination of international projects in Tunisia will be considered as a very important asset.
- Further education in project management is advantageous.
- Practical experience with accounting software, spreadsheets (such as MS Excel), and databases (such as MS Access)
