Purpose of Role
The individual, Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) Engineer, will be a champion in the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the Business Management System (BMS), process mapping, and the creation of standard procedures, work instructions, training material and associated documents. Leading and/or performing internal or external audits across all areas of the business, any identified non-conformities to be addressed, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are successfully implemented. Determining and reporting the effectiveness of the BMS. Contributing to developing the QHSE strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems.
Key Roles,
• Maintain the business core and supporting process model, and associated policies, process maps, standard procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation
• Promote a customer focus, the use of the process and the risk-based approach when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of the BMS
• Identify relevant interested parties and their requirements for the QHSE management systems
• Ensure that the priority of increasing customer satisfaction is maintained
• Support the organisation in establishing QHSE training programmes that lead for culture and behavioural change
• Support the QHSE Manager in regular QHSE committee meetings, chair the site’s systems management reviews and support the Head of Quality in regular BMS management reviews
Responsibilities:
· Support the organisation in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the BMS, in accordance to ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) standards, company’s vision, strategic direction, core values and customer requirements.
· Support managing the QHSE risk registers, by ensuring that risks and opportunities that may impact product and service compliance and the ability to improve customer satisfaction are identified and addressed
· Endorse across the business the importance of implementing and maintaining an effective QHSE management systems
· Support continuous improvement projects within the business, ensuring that when changes to the quality management system are planned and implemented, the integrity of the QHSE management systems are maintained
· Develop and maintain both the internal and external (Customer, ISO certification’s surveillance and renewal) audit programme to identify and resolve process nonconformities. This includes the identification, reporting and completing robust and timely root cause analysis, and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive action plans
• Conduct compliance assessments, audits and inspections to ensure QHSE requirements are successfully implemented and maintained, report on the QHSE systems performance and define opportunities for improvement
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the QHSE role
Business Skills:
➢ Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of:
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems, requirements with guidance for use
- IATF 16949: 2016 International Automotive Task Force, requirements with guidance for use
- ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems, requirements
- ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems.
Requirements
➢ A qualified lead or internal auditor for ISO 9001, 45001 and / or 14001
➢ Risk management: Mapping of technical and functional risks and functional risks and estimate their criticality
➢ Proven ability to act as Subject Matter Expert related to good working knowledge of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety legislation, standards and best practises
➢ Good problem-solving skills
➢ Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workflow to meet established time frames and schedules
➢ Proficient in the implementation of quality data systems, key performance indicators and scorecard
