Job Summary:

As a Microwave Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, optimization, and maintenance of microwave communication systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable and efficient microwave links for telecommunications networks. This position requires a strong understanding of microwave engineering principles, radio frequency (RF) technologies, and a solid background in network engineering.

Responsibilities:

Design microwave communication systems, including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links, based on network requirements and coverage objectives.

Conduct microwave link planning, including frequency allocation, path calculations, and link budget analysis, to optimize signal strength and minimize interference.

Install, configure, and align microwave equipment, including antennas, radios, multiplexers, and associated hardware.

Perform microwave link testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and quality of service.

Conduct radio frequency (RF) measurements, such as signal strength, interference levels, and noise characteristics, to assess and optimize link performance.

Analyze and resolve microwave link issues, such as link outages, signal degradation, or interference, in a timely manner.

Conduct periodic maintenance activities, including inspections, preventive maintenance, and software updates, to ensure the reliability and longevity of microwave systems.

Monitor and analyze microwave link performance and capacity utilization, making recommendations for network optimization and expansion.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, transmission planning, and field technicians, to coordinate activities and resolve complex technical issues.

Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to microwave engineering, RF propagation, and spectrum management.

Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and maintenance records for microwave systems.

Adhere to health and safety guidelines and follow industry best practices in all microwave engineering activities.

Qualifications:

(Nokia Experience is a plus)

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

Strong knowledge of microwave engineering principles, RF technologies, and microwave link planning.

Experience with microwave equipment and technologies from vendors such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, or similar.

Proficiency in network design and architecture principles, including microwave propagation, modulation schemes, and frequency bands.

Hands-on experience with microwave equipment installation, alignment, and testing.

Familiarity with microwave link planning tools and software, such as Pathloss, Atoll, or similar.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex microwave link issues.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Relevant certifications, such as RF design certifications or vendor-specific certifications, are highly desirable.

Prior experience in the telecommunications industry or with service providers is a plus.
