Purpose of Position:
The Merchandising Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data, communicating with stakeholders, and developing recommendations for improvement. He/she will support the Global Merchandising Team, including Merchandising, Product Development, Demand Planning, and Product Data Management (PDM), with developing reports needed to make educated decisions that will drive profitable growth across e-commerce, telemarketing, and mail order. This role is directly responsible for collecting, interpreting, and using data to develop reports, including charts, graphs, and dashboards. This role also works closely with the central Data Analytics & Insights team, especially E-commerce Analytics, to ensure an in-depth understanding of channel level performance, and consistency across all reporting.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Collect, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data from internal sources
Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within merchandising data to support decision-making processes and drive strategic initiatives
Leverage data to identify patterns, trends, and insights
Clean and organize data, applying statistical techniques, and using analytical tools and software
Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, charts, and graphs, to effectively communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights to stakeholders
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on the design, development, testing, and implementation of new content
Ensure complex information is presented in a clear and concise manner to support decision-making
Support Global Merchandising Strategy across e-commerce, telemarketing, and mail order
Work closely with the Global Merchandising Team to provide analytical support, including but not limited to assortment analysis, sell-through, product performance evaluation, forecasting accuracy, product health data
Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific merchandising-related questions or challenges
Collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams:
Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and training to team members on data analysis tools, techniques, and best practices
Collaborate with Data Analytics & Insights team to ensure the availability, scalability, and security of data sources and business intelligence solutions
Requirements and Qualifications:
Ability to work hours to support European afternoons and North American morning (roughly 1:00pm – 10:30pm CEST/ 4:00am – 1:30pm PDT/ 3:00am – 12:30pm PST)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Business, Economics
3 - 5 years e-commerce analytical experience
specifically focused on Merchandising, Demand Planning, and/or Marketing
Strong analytical background
Ability to research and analyze large amounts of data
Proven experience with taking historical information and projecting trends
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQL
Experience with BI tools, preferably Looker
Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
Accountable and able to manage projects individually and work will as part of a team
Team player, comfortable building effective relationships with business partners
Goal orientated; ability to stay focused on delivering results
Strong organizational and time management skills
Flexibility to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment with multiple priorities
