You will support the business by evaluating user’s problems, analysing their needs and creating robust IT solutions to support delivery of the business’s growth plans within the framework of the global IT strategy.
You will install, maintain up-grade and continuously improve the operating environment, maintain the on-going reliability, performance and support of the IT applications and infrastructure responding to incidents and business as usual problems, as they arise, in a professional and time-critical manner.
You will also be expected to install, configure and perform testing of Servers, PCs, Laptops, OS, networks and related utilities and hardware.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain, monitor, and support the infrastructure environment and facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software and connectivity problems.
- Implementation and troubleshooting of Servers (Physical and Virtual)
- To respond to 1st 2nd line Help Desk calls and planned work requests, assisting in such items through to resolution or escalating them to another member of the IT team.
§ Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and post-implementation support.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as patch management and hot fixes.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues within the Company.
- Install, configure and maintain approved telecom/system hardware and software components.
- Maintain structured cabling systems, telecom systems, WAN, LAN, Mobile, Wireless Networks and local internet, remote access, VPNs and connectivity protocol.
- Maintains records of hardware and software inventory.
- Monitor Helpdesk and assign jobs to team members.
- Ensure IT system security baselines are met and security improvements are implemented across the PC/Laptops.
- Ensure appropriate user privileges and access are granted, ensuring data integrity and security is met.
- Administer the setup of new profiles and maintain user accounts for systems.
- Ensure all necessary network security updates, patches are in place.
- Troubleshoot basic issues/problems, e.g. Account lockouts, file share access.
- Hardware roll-out – provisioning of PC’s, Laptops, Mobile and Landline Phones.
- Active Directory and Group Policy.
- To work alongside colleagues within the IT Department on support, development and project work where directed.
Person Specification
- You will need to demonstrate the ability think outside the box and work on your own initiative.
- Strong and clear communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential as you will be working as part of a global business with multiple English-speaking sites.
- Be commercially aware of how your actions impact upon the smooth operation of the wider business.
- Flexibility to adapt to different challenges, with the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise, as required.
- Be able to manage multiple objectives and projects at the same time.
- Enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Possesses a keen attention to detail.
- Experience of VMware, HP SAN, Cisco Technologies, VoIP but not essential.
§ Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including, Windows Server 2012/2019, Windows 10.
§ Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office 2010/2019
§ Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
