Purpose of Role:

As a Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that raw materials, components, assemblies, products, and manufacturing processes meet customer-specific requirements, as well as those set by the company or regulatory bodies. Your primary responsibilities include inspecting, product & manufacturing process auditing, testing, inc. approval tests, investigating, containing, problem-solving, and evaluating internal and external failures (customer returns), products, and manufacturing processes to identify and address any defects, deviations, or non-compliance issues, thereby preventing defective products from being shipped to our customers. Additionally, you will support the generation of PPAPs, the setup of control plans, MSAs, capability studies, and quality training.



Key Accountabilities:

The role will require you to:

·  Conduct thorough inspections and tests on raw materials, components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet customer-specific and company requirements, standards (including workmanship and appearance), and specifications, and escalate issues as required.

·  Support the development of instructions and training of equipment and quality workmanship and appearance standards.

·  Conduct product control inspections and tests as required.

·  Support product failure analysis (internal and external), including the validation of failure modes, utilising laboratory measurement and analysis equipment, and the implementation of effective containment actions to prevent the delivery of non-conforming products.

·  Support or lead product problem-solving investigations, including the validation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.

·  Complete MSA for quality inspection and measurement equipment.

·  Input into PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis).

·  Set up and maintain control plans (PCP, MCP, ICP).

·  Perform capability studies and ISIR measurements for inputs into PPAP.

·  Conduct product and manufacturing process audits as required.

·  Support Quality Auditors in conducting manufacturing and product audits, especially when technical assistance is required.

·  Maintain manufacturing quality control documentation and reports.

·  First maintenance of test equipment.

·  Calibration and certification of all measurement equipment.

Person Specification:

·  Attention to Detail: Carefully examines products and processes to ensure compliance with standards, leaving no aspect unchecked to prevent any defects from being overlooked.

·  Strong Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data to identify issues, trends, and root causes, develop solutions, implement corrective actions effectively, and demonstrate good teamwork, training, and communication skills.

·  Deep Understanding: Knowledge of product workmanship, appearance, standards, specifications, drawings, and applicable quality core tools.

·  Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using measurement tools, test equipment, and relevant software for the inspection process. Calibration and maintenance.

·  Communication Skills: Ability to write detailed and understandable inspection reports.

·  Team Support: Provides guidance and support to colleagues to enhance overall quality control efforts.

·  Proactive Approach: Identifies potential quality issues and takes the necessary steps to address them.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

·  2 to 3-year higher education qualification e.g. BTS or other.

·  Proficient in drafting 8D reports, presentations, and collating data, analysing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

·  Skilled in reading and understanding drawings, geometric tolerances, sampling plans, measurement and testing equipment, and the completion of ISIRs.

·  Experience in component, product, and manufacturing process audits, testing and inspections, and certified quality auditor.

·  Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949, quality control processes and procedures, and standards.

·  Experience in metrology and equipment calibration and control.

·  Proficient in the use of control plans, MSA, SPC, and process capability studies.

·  IPC610 and IPC620 certification or training.

·  Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., molding, crimping, soldering, etc.).

·  Expertise in utilizing problem-solving tools, such as 8D, 5M, 5Why, etc.

·  Skilled in the use of software programs – Minitab, Qualipro, IFS, Cognidox, Microsoft (MS) Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel.

Desirable:

·  Health and safety knowledge.

·  Completed and working experience in ISO 19011 Auditing Management.

·  Working experience in automotive or medical industries.
