The purpose of the Process and Continuous Improvement Engineer role is to enhance production efficiency and quality by analysing, refining, and optimizing processes. This role is essential in establishing robust work instructions, conducting MSA capability studies, and addressing customer demand through streamlined operations. By identifying and eliminating waste, the engineer supports cost-effective production and ensures process improvements align with both company standards and customer expectations. Additionally, this position fosters a culture of continuous improvement, equipping teams with the tools and methodologies necessary to sustain long-term operational excellence. The engineer’s work ultimately strengthens production performance, quality consistency, and responsiveness to customer needs.

Key Accountabilities

1.  Process Optimization

Analyze and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and align operations with Lean and Six Sigma principles.

2.  Work Instructions and Documentation

Develop, implement, and maintain accurate work instructions and production documentation, ensuring they are followed and regularly updated for consistency and clarity.

3.  Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)

Conduct MSA capability studies to assess and validate measurement systems, ensuring they provide reliable data for quality control and process improvements.

4.  Customer Demand Fulfilment

Ensure production processes are optimized to meet customer demand effectively, adjusting workflows and resources as necessary to achieve high-quality, on-time delivery.

5.  Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Identify, plan, and execute continuous improvement projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable operational improvements and meet performance goals.

6.  Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving

Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve process issues, minimizing production disruptions and improving overall quality.

7.  Update of manufacturing structure and routings on IFS : Review and update current range times.

8.  Organization, planning and monitoring of the progress of different stages of production engineering projects.

9.  Effective Handover to Production: Ensure a seamless handover from Manufacturing Engineering to Production in serial life by establishing protocols and clear documentation for a smooth transition.

10.  ECR Coordination : Actively participate in coordinating Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to ensure changes are effectively implemented in the production process.

11.  Project Management

Plan, prioritize, and manage improvement projects from initiation through to implementation, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives.

12.  Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support effective implementation of process changes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

·  Practical experience with value stream mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, and waste elimination techniques.

·  Familiarity with measurement systems analysis (MSA) and statistical process control (SPC) for process capability assessment.

·  Hands-on experience in developing and standardizing work instructions.

·  Knowledge of Minitab or similar statistical software for analysing and interpreting data.

·  Continuous Improvement Mindset: Highly motivated to drive and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.

·  Adaptability: Flexible and responsive to changing business demands and able to pivot projects as needed.

·  Attention to Detail: Diligent in maintaining quality and safety standards while implementing improvements.

·  Initiative: Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and suggesting actionable solutions.

Desirable:

·  Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or similar process improvement methodologies are advantageous
