Bank ABC Tunisia is reinforcing its Legal Department with the recruitment of a Legal Officer.
Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of the Role:
As a Legal Officer, you will:
- Take part in establishing and drafting loan agreements handled by the Legal Department as well as their related documents (notifications, amendments, guarantees, releases, etc).
- Ensure a complete and proper listing of signed agreements and their collaterals, take care of their safe keeping and manage the periodic reporting of collaterals to the Legal Department’s members.
- Provide with legal opinion on the loan files and the guarantees submitted to Legal Department.
- Study and examine carefully the accounts opening files of legal entities and provide with the right comments.
- Keep abreast of the Laws and Regulations and inform the Legal Department’s members about the impact of any new law or regulation on the bank’s activity.
- Take part in the processing of seizures, administrative oppositions and requests from public authorities transmitted to the bank in due time and in accordance with the Law requirements and procedures of the bank.
- Manage and follow up of litigation files involving the bank with external lawyers and ensure the reporting to the Head of Legal in timely manner.
- Draft correspondences and notes to the bank’s departments or third parties at the request of the Head of Legal Department.
- Draft, comment, and review the supply and service contracts of the bank and ensure the follow up of the contractual rights and obligation of the bank.
- Ensure the contact with lawyers, bailiffs, experts when needed by the Legal Department.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Corporate Law, Contracts Administration, Judicial Procedures.
- Education/ Certifications: Master’s degree in business law or another related field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in legal function or law firm. Legal experience in the banking sector is preferred.
- Language: Fluent in Arabic, French and English.
